Green Rose Center for Academe, Inc. holds a mass this Tuesday afternoon at the school’s chapel to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, which draws many students, teachers, and staff who attend despite the heavy rains to show the importance of the occasion to the school community.
The mass is presided over by Rev. Fr. Ryan Aban, MSP, who delivers a homily focusing on faith, devotion, and the importance of spiritual commitment among members of the school community.
After the mass, the priest leads the blessing of the scapulars and offers prayers asking for the guidance and protection of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel before distributing the scapulars to all students and teachers who line up to receive them respectfully as a sign of their faith and devotion.
The school also prepares free snacks that are served after the ceremony, allowing everyone to gather in designated areas to share food and strengthen their bond as a community despite the bad weather.
After the distribution of food provided by the school, they eventually return to their usual schedules and continue with their afternoon classes and responsibilities after the celebration.
